PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently and stably produce an ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer saponificate (EVOH) capable of giving a molding, e.g. a film, prevented from suffering poor appearance by improving a step of washing chips of EVOH. SOLUTION: This method comprises: introducing EVOH chips in a state containing methanol into a tower washer 10 from its top, introducing water into the washer 10 from its bottom 3, and maintaining the methanol concentration of the solution at the top at 25-45 wt.% while settling the chips from the top, discharging the methanol and the water from the top 2, and discharging the chips together with water containing methanol of a concentration lower than that at the top. It is also possible to introduce an adjusting liquid containing methanol into the washer 10 from its top 1. |
