PURPOSE:To reduce the recording saturation time of the title medium and to increase the contrast and signal intensity by forming a film containing a specific Te alloy and Te atoms as the recording layer. CONSTITUTION:The medium has the recording layer of such a film containing Te alloy including >1 kind among Pd, Cu, Au, Sn, Ge, In, Se, Sb, etc., and Te atoms. Te oxide is preferably incorporated into the above material. This film is formed on a disk surface for example, by vapor depositing a TeO2-Te.Cu alloy-Te film by using TeO2, Te and Cu for the alloy element as the vapor sources. A film of desired composition can be obtained by controlling accurately the temperature of each vapor source. |
