摘要 PURPOSE: To prevent the quality of printing, copying, etc., from being deteriorated by controlling the charging voltage of a photoconductor and the electrostatic parameter of developing electrode voltage or the like as the functions of saturated voltage of the photoconductor. CONSTITUTION: A test area of a photoconductor 31 is irradiated with light so as to obtain a saturated voltage level Bs by using an image forming station 33 for a device to be driven by a maximum light output state. Thereby the uneven operation characteristics of the station 33 can be compensated. When an optical output from the station 33 or the sensitivity of the photoconductor 31 is changed, the electric energization of the station 33 is controlled so as to maintain the same patch voltage Vp and small image area voltage Vc. Namely relation among the saturated voltage Vs of the photoconductor 31, the charge Vd of the photoconductor 31 in an image background area charged to high potential, developing electrode voltage V bias and the voltage values Vc, Vp of various other discharged images of the photoconductor 31 is established and maintained in a state capable of applying optimum discharge area developing performance to an image forming device. Consequently, the quality, of an image can be prevented from being deteriorated.
