Described is a high-voltage electrical switch with a contact piece (2, 21) made of carbon-fibre reinforced carbon (CFC). This material has sufficient mechanical stability as well as being extremely resistant to burning losses. In addition, the weight of the contact piece (2, 21) is low. Thus, when the contact piece is a driven one, savings in drive energy are made.
