The connection is formed between peripheral terminals of a plastics encapsulated chip support and free, vertical spring shanks of a suitable socket contact element. The chip support (1) is secured on its rear side to a spacer plate (2) in a non-rotary manner. The plate has peripheral recesses (13) aligned with the spring shanks (8) of the socket (3) and the terminals (5) of the chip support. They retain and guide the spring shanks, while the plate thickness so matches the length of the spring shanks that the spring ends (10) contact the terminals of the chip support. Pref. the spacer plate has a top surface with a depression (11) for positive retaining of the chip support. USE/ADVANTAGE - For microelectronic modules, with simple and low-cost mfr. and easy electric connection of plastics encapsulated chip supports.
