PURPOSE:To maintain light of constant output and to provide an integrated light source having excellent modulation characteristics, by monitoring its output light precisely even in the case of a laser having an HR film. CONSTITUTION:A laser 5, a photo detector 7, and a light modulator 6 are lined up in this order and integrated, and the intensity of a laser beam emitted by the laser 5 is monitored by the photo detector 7 put between the laser 5 and the light modulator 6. Besides a part of current flowing into the laser 5 is prevented from flowing into the photodetector 7 and malfunction of the photodetector 7 is prevented, by arranging a current absorbing region between the laser 7 and the photodetector 7. In addition, current caused to flow by reverse bias voltage applied to the light modulator 6 is prevented from flowing into the photo detector 7 and malfunction of the photodetector 7 is prevented, by arranging a current absorbing region between the photodetector 7 and the light modulator 6. |
