PRODUCTION OF THERMOPLASTIC SYNTHETIC FIBER FOR REINFORCING RUBBER AND TREATING AGENT FOR THERMOPLASTIC SYNTHETIC FIBER FOR REINFORCING RUBBER

PURPOSE:To obtain a fiber for reinforcing rubber without causing deterioration in tenacity of the fiber in RFL treating and vulcanizing steps by applying an aluminum compound or the aluminum compound and a spinning oiling agent to thermoplastic synthetic fiber. CONSTITUTION:Thermoplastic synthetic fiber such as a polyamide or a polyester is oiled with a treating agent composed of especially preferably a fatty acid aluminum soap as an aluminum compound or the aluminum compound and a spinning oiling agent (e.g. lauryl oleate) in, e.g. a drawing step to afford the objective thermoplastic synthetic fiber for reinforcing rubber with hardly any deterioration in tenacity. The treated fiber is used to prepare, e.g. gray cords, which are then subjected to RFL and vulcanizing treatments to provide a fiber-reinforced rubber product.
