PURPOSE: To obtain a medical composition useful as an irritant for myeloperoxidase activity, comprising an amphoteric ion compound and its N- halo derivative. CONSTITUTION: The composition contains the amphoteric ion compound and/or its N-halo derivative, as the active components, selected from taurine(2- aminoethanesulfonic acid), 2-(N-morpholino)ethanesulfonic acid, N-(2-acetamido) iminodiacetic acid, piperadine-N,N'-bis(2-ethanesulfonic acid), N-(2-acetamido)-2- aminoethanesulfonic acid, N,N'-bis(2-hydroxyethyl)-2-aminoethanesulfonic acid, etc. This stimulates the myeloperoxidase activity, then stimulates synthesis of hypochlorous acid in vivo allowing an especially enhanced leukotriene to be inactivated, and is useful for therapy of chronic inflammatory disease, cancer, bacteriosis, etc. |
