ADSORBENT AND PROCESS FOR REMOVING SULFUR COMPOUND IN FUEL GAS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an adsorbent for removing sulfur compounds in a sulfur- compound-containing fuel gas which has excellent performance for removing sulfur compounds including not only sulfides but also thiophenes and mercaptans irrespective of moisture concentration in the fuel gas and also to provide a process for removing such sulfur compounds in the fuel gas by using the adsorbent. SOLUTION: This adsorbent is prepared by depositing silver on a Y type zeolite by an ion-exchange method. This adsorbent is intended for removing such sulfur compounds in a sulfur-compound-containing fuel gas.
