A cover for a round or rectangular pond for sewage works, includes a covering metal sheet unit which extends over the pond edges, a support rail arrangement with two rails which extend along the pond edge, and a clearing mechanism. The support rails are connected by a reinforcing plate. An equalisation layer is located between the reinforcing plate and the pond concrete edge. The local fixing members are sprung and give elastically. The equalisation layer pref. consists of a viscoelastic plastic. USE/ADVANTAGE - The cover is used for ponds in sewage works. The cover is simple and reliable.
