PURPOSE:To prepare a heat transfer recording medium with excellent friction resistance and scratch resistance and with a hot-melt color ink layer wherein a carnauba wax is a main component of a vehicle with preventing the environment from being polluted, with good coatability and without spoiling transfer performance. CONSTITUTION:A hot-melt color ink layer consisting of a color pigment and a vehicle contg. 50-95wt.% carnauba wax is provided on a substrate. The ink layer is formed by applying a coating liq. consisting of a water-soluble dispersion liq. wherein a vehicle is prepd. by using a wax with an acid value of at least 30 or a water-soluble acrylic polymer at a ratio of 5-30wt.% to the total amt. of the vehicle and dispersing it in an aqueous medium and an aqueous dispersion liq. wherein a color pigment is dispersed in an aqueous medium by using a polyvinyl alcohol with an average degree of polymn. of 200-3,000 or a water-soluble acrylic polymer at a ratio of 10-30wt.% to the color pigment. |
