The method involves converting at least part of the induction air into a high pressure plasma before it enters the combustion chamber to form combustible components. The high pressure plasma is formed (1) by a high pressure discharge of the AC/DC corona type, or by using the AC type with dielectric barriers. Alternatively, a high frequency electromagnetic field can be used, especially a microwave field in the frequency range 0.95 TO 25 GHz, and preferably at a frequency of about 2.45 GHz.
