Bicycle with epicyclic change-speed gearing

The drive mechanism is used on a bicycle. It consists of a set of epicyclic gears accommodated in the hub for the pedals and the large sprocket. There may be several sprockets (17) for use with a derailleur gearchange system and there is also an auxiliary motor connected to the epicyclic gears via a two-stage reduction gear (8). The epicyclic change-speed gearing may have two sun-wheels (6,7) of different diameter, planet gears and a ring gear (3) with a freewheel unit (4). The control system includes one or more actuator motors (15).
