PURPOSE: An apparatus for supporting an external device of a monitor is provided to output a video signal transmitted from an external device and a PC into the screen. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for supporting an external device is composed of an external device interface part(120), an external device audio processing part(130), an external device video processing part(140), and a video processing part(200). The external device interface part(120) inputs a video/audio signal received to a picture portable phone(110) to the monitor. The external device audio processing part(130) receives the audio signal received to the picture portable phone(110) through the external device interface part(120), and executes signal processing for the audio signal so that it can be outputted through an audio output unit. The external device video processing part(140) receives the video signal received to the picture portable phone(110) through the external device interface part(120), and converts the video signal so that video processing can be executed through the video processing part(200). The video processing part(200) amplifies an analog video signal inputted from a PC and converts it into a digital video signal.
