<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To magnify an image without lowering the sharpness of edges and lowering the image quality. SOLUTION: Corresponding to the enlarging scale of image, the calculation object pixel region of source image to be used for calculating the density data of calculation object pixels in the enlarged image is found (step S2), contrast quantity near that calculation object pixel region is calculated (step S3) and corresponding to the value of that contrast quantity, the mixing ratio of close located pixel value and interpolated value is determined (step S4). This closely located pixel value is extracted, this interpolated value is calculated (steps S5 and S6) and the result of mixing these close located pixel value and interpolated value in the determined mixing ration is defined (step S7) as the density data of calculation object pixels in the enlarged image. This processing is repeated for finding the density data of respective pixels in the magnified image and a magnified image is provided (steps S1, S8 and S9).</p> |
