POLYESTER RESIN COMPOSITION FOR DECORATIVE STEEL SHEET

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition capable of manifesting excellent transparency, processability, etc., by including a specific polyester resin and a polyarylate resin in a specified weight ratio. SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by including (A) a polyester resin consisting essentially of ethylene terephthalate (preferably having >=0.6 dL/g intrinsic viscosity) and (B) a polyarylate resin (preferably having 0.5-1.0 dL/g intrinsic viscosity) so as to provide (50:50) to (95:5) weight ratio of the components A:B thereof. The component B is prepared from an aromatic dicarboxylic acid (derivative) [preferably terephthalic acid and isophthalic acid at (1:9) to (9:1) molar ratio] and a dihydric phenol (derivative) [preferably 2,2'- bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)propane]. An antioxidant is preferably added to the composition in order to prevent the thermal deterioration at the time of heat treatment and retain the impact resistance.
