<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To impart a quantity of electric charges suitable for the development of an electrostatic charge image and to keep the quantity of electric charges constant even after repeated development in an environment in which a change of triboelectric charge produces a considerable effect, e.g. in an environment at high temp. and high humidity or at low temp. and low humidity by specifying the average particle diameter of particles contained in a melted and kneaded body of the materials of a developer. SOLUTION: When at least particles of a 2:1 type metallic complex salt compd. represented by the formula and a resin binder are melted and kneaded and the resultant kneaded body is crushed to obtain a developer, the average particle diameter of particles in the kneaded body is regulated to <=0.2μm. In the formula, X is -CONHPh, Y is -SO2 CO2 H5 , M is Co and A is an alkali metallic or ammonium ion. At least the dye represented by the formula as well as a colorant is added to the resin binder by 0.1-5 pts.wt. and they are melted, kneaded, crushed and classified to produce the objective developer. Improved dispersibility to the resin binder and meltability are ensured and the developer has stable negative chargeability.</p> |
