PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing system with a reduced memory capacity and an improved printed picture quality. SOLUTION: When print data PD generated by an application 100 are supplied to a graphics library 110 in the order of descriptions of objects, the library 110 stores the data PD in meta-file 120 in relation to respective objects. Then the meta-file 120 is retrieved after the data PD equivalent to a single page are stored in the meta-file 120, so that the data PD are reconfigured for each band. A printer driver 130 converts the reconfigured data PD into PDL data PD' and transfers them to an output device 2. A decomposer 140 directly expands the data DP' into a band buffer 22 without generating intermediate format data. An output device 24 reads raster data RD out of the buffer 22 and prints the images on a form.
