摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling a motor for an electric vehicle, which allows a vehicle to start on an up slope without causing it to go back or causing rapid acceleration or slip, and which gives no sense of compatibility to a driver since an accelerator operating sense of the driver and the action of the vehicle harmonize with each other. SOLUTION: A main CPU 14 supplies a PWM(pulse width modulation) output to a motor driving circuit 16 while supplying a vehicle forward direction signal via a forward direction controlling circuit 18. At that time, an encoder A 22 and an encoder B 24 monitor the rotation of a motor 20 and detect the rotating direction of the motor 20 in an initial stage of the rise in motor voltage due to the PWM output. When they detect that the motor is rotating in the opposite direction to the forward direction, they determine that the vehicle is about to start on an up slope and then conduct a start-up voltage control wherein control is switched to the one with the upward slope starting voltage at which such motor torque as to prevent the vehicle to go back on an up slope and keep it in a stationary state is generated and, after the vehicle is allowed to start at a limited speed or lower while the stationary state of the vehicle is maintained, control is switched to normal traveling control.
