PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a certain non-interchangeability of a process cartridge with a simple constitution. SOLUTION: Since the proper process cartridge 15 is provided with a projecting pin 37, the horizontal lever part 25 of a lever member 28 is pushed up by the pin 37 and the vertical lever part 26 thereof enters the notched recessed part 39 of the cartridge 15 when the cartridge 15 is set. Therefore, a cover body 2 can be turned with a supporting shaft 13 as the center and it is held at a closed position. However, when the improper process cartridge is set, the projection part 27 of the lever member 28 abuts on a stopper part 32 and the lever part 26 also abuts on the upper side of the process cartridge because the improper process cartridge is not provided with the pin 37. Therefore, the cover body 2 does not arrive at the prescribed closed position and the turning action thereof is obstructed.
