<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a ruthenium catalyst capable of obtaining cycloolefin in a high selectivity by a method wherein in an analysis for an X-rays absorption end neighbourhood structure in an X-rays absorption microstructure concerned with a ruthenium component, a ratio of (Ru-halogen):(Ru-O) is allowed to have a specific value of a range. SOLUTION: In an analysis of an X-rays absorption end neighbourhood structure in an X-rays absorption fine structure concerned with a ruthenium component, a ruthenium catalyst wherein a ratio of (Ru-halogen):(Ru-O) is within a range from 45:55 to 25: 75, is provided. Though a support of the catalyst to be used herein is, if only it is an inorganic support, not especially limited, zirconia, silica modified by zirconia, and ZrSiO4 (zircon) on the market are especially preferable. As an active component of the catalyst, though ruthenium may be independently used, it may be mixed with other metallic constituents. As the component to be used by mixing, zinc, iron, cobalt, manganese, gold, lanthanum, copper, etc., are effective, and the zinc is especially preferable.</p> |
