PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a grain-oriented silicon steel sheet in which the problem of iron-loss deterioration occurring at the time of short-time final finish annealing is solved. SOLUTION: A silicon steel stock containing 1.5-7.0 wt.% Si is hot rolled into a plate. Thereafter, hot rolled plate annealing is applied if necessary, then the hot rolled plate is cold rolled once or is cold rolled two or more times while interposing an intermediate annealing and finished to final sheet thickness. After decarburizing annealing if necessary, the resultant cold rolled sheet is subjected to short-time final finish annealing including stages of soaking and holding at a temp. of 950-1,200 deg.C and subsequent cooling. In this method of manufacturing a grain oriented silicon steel sheet, the cooling at the time of the short-time final finish annealing is performed at an average cooling rate of <=25 deg.C/s through the temperature region between the holding temperature and at least 900 deg.C. |
