PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the exchange of the catalyst in an apparatus for decomposing a fluorine-containing org. halogen compd. by a catalytic system and to reduce heat loss. SOLUTION: In this apparatus provided with a heater 2 in which the gas to be treated containing the fluorine-containing org. halogen compd. is mixed with water, etc., and is heated to a prescribed reaction temp., a reactor 3 incorporated with the catalyst 9 for decomposing the heated gaseous mixture and a cooler 4 for cooling high-temp. decomposed gas, the heater 2 and the reactor 3 are formed into the integrated structure of a double pipe and a catalyst cartridge 10 is loaded inside a large diameter inner pipe of the reactor 3. The cartridge 10 is freely loaded/unloaded from the lower part of the reactor 3 by engaging the projection of the lower end part of the catalyst cartridge 10 with the groove of the lower part flange 135 of an external pipe 101. |
