PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow users to peacefully use settlement services or online shopping services provided by a firm with little confidence. SOLUTION: The user of a user terminal 1 who is a member of settlement services provided by a B firm but not a member of an online store operated by an A firm does shopping at the online store of the A firm by using the settlement system of the B firm. In this case, money paid for the items purchased and an ID and a password for the settlement system 3 of the B firm to identify the user are transmitted from the EC server 2 of the A firm to an intermediate server 4. The intermediate server 4 then requests the settlement system 3 to settle an account including the money paid and the ID or the like but not including the items purchased.
