PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a joining method of members by stud welding, by which the generation of a recess on the opposite surface of the joining of a sheet shaped base material or the generation of a harmful thermal deformation caused by a thermal effect on the joining part of the sheet shaped base material, can be prevented or reduced when joining by stud welding a stud material made of metal to the sheet shaped base material made of thin metal. SOLUTION: A projecting part 3 for joining is formed on the joining portion of the joining surface 1a of a sheet shaped base material 1, and while arranging vertically a stud material 2 to the projecting part 3 for joining, stud welding is performed. Since the opposite surface 1b of the joining of the sheet shaped base material 1, is hardly affected by a thermal effect, the generation of a recess caused by solidification and shrinkage after welding on the opposite surface 1b of the joining or the generation of a thermal deformation on a joining part, can be prevented or reduced.
