PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To utilize a peripheral device in such a system where current fed to the peripheral device when a main body sleeps is equal to or less than the consumption current of the peripheral device. SOLUTION: This low power consumption information system makes only a USB(universal serial bus) microcomputer part 3 operate all the time, and the part 3 performs active/sleep control of hardware logic 4 and an FE(front end) 7 in a fixed cycle and suppresses the average power consumption of the entire peripheral device to be equal to or less than an average consumption current when a main body sleeps. An external signal received when the FE 7 is active is notified to the part 3 to return the main body and the peripheral device active all the time.
