<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten fusing time of a temperature fuse from heat generation of a varistor element, while reducing dispersion of a thermal response time, by coupling the varistor element and the temperature fuse via an insulating/heat transfer member having good electrical insulating properties and thermal conductivity. SOLUTION: A varistor device 1 comprises a zinc oxide based ceramic varistor 2 as varistor element, a temperature fuse 3 fusing at a prescribed temperature, and ceramic plate 4 as insulating/heat transfer member, which is placed between the varistor 2 and the temperature fuse 3 and has both good electrical insulating properties and thermal conductivity. By making the thickness of the ceramic plate 4 uniform, there is almost no dispersion of thermal reaction time, the fusing time of the temperature fuse from heat generation of the varistor element 2 can be shortened, and smoking, odor and the like can be prevented from being generated.</p> |
