PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a semiconductor-pumped solid-state laser, which can oscillates laser light with a high energy efficiency and is suitable for high outputs by constituting the laser to have a resonator structure that is stable in a plane parallel to the thickness direction of a solid-state laser medium, but unstable in a plane perpendicular to the thickness direction of the medium. SOLUTION: A semiconductor-pumped solid-state laser which can efficiency oscillate a high-quality laser beam is constituted by arranging a semiconductor laser 1 near the end face or side face of a solid-state laser medium 3 and efficiently making an pumping light 2 from the laser 1 incident to the medium 3 from the direction coincident with or perpendicular to the optical axis of the laser beam 6 emitted from the solid-state laser. |
