PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an adhesive composition composed of a polyester having excellent adhesivity and exhibiting satisfactory adhesive force and cohesive force without applying crosslinking treatment. SOLUTION: This adhesive composition contains a polyester consisting of a polycondensation product of an aliphatic polyol component composed essentially of a diol containing a polycarbonate structure in the main chain and a polybasic carboxylic acid component composed essentially of a dicarboxylic acid component containing a sulfonic acid salt group. The content of the sulfonic acid salt group in the polyester is 0.05-1 mmol/g and the number-average molecular weight of the polyester is >=7,000.
