摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation monitoring system (70) detecting the rotation speed of an X-ray tube anode (10) in use. SOLUTION: The rotation monitoring system (70) is equipped with a detector (72) which detects secondary X-ray pulse generated by the interaction between an already known flaw (83) at an anode surface (84) and electron flow (D). The detector can be arranged either outside or inside a vacuum envelope (14). The electron flow is supplied from a supplementary source (80) which is an another device from an electron main source (18) which is used for the generation of main object of X-ray tube, namely, operating X-ray beam (B). Single pulse is detected at each rotation of the anode, and a simple calculation method of anode rotation speed is provided. Preferably, in order to prevent overheat of the anode and to prolong the effective life of X-ray tube, a feedback loop, modifying anode rotation speed, is used.
