PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an impact beam for an automobile door exhibiting improved bending resistance and impact energy absorbing efficiency. SOLUTION: This impact beam 10 for the automobile door is constituted by a rod shaped beam of which cross sectional area at a central part 12 is larger than that at both side end parts 11. The impact beam 10 may include a pair of brackets attached on a panel of the door and a fixing means for fixing the both side end parts of the impact beam on the bracket.
