PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recorder provided with a function capable of preventing distortion from occurring between image areas or the like. SOLUTION: An image is picked up by a plurality of image pickup elements, respective image pickup signal processing circuits perform color separation and A/D conversion of the picked up images, an image array conversion circuit then performs array conversion to the images into one image, an image dividing means subsequently divides the one image into eight image areas, respective image processing means 16i (i=a to h) generate an RGB color signal in each of the image areas to be respectively inputted to DCT processing parts 21i constituting a JPEG system image compressing device 20A, quantizing parts 22i respectively quantize the RGB color signals by using a coefficient of a common quantization table 23 after being subjected to DCT processing, encoding parts 24i further encode the RGB signals by using a common encoding table 25 to generate compressed data 26i, and the compressed data 26i are respectively recorded on a recording medium through each image recording means. |
