PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To calculate the inductance of a synchronous motor in a short time. SOLUTION: There are provided a means which selects a first AC voltage alternating in the arbitrary fixed direction as a voltage command value to be supplied to a power converter; a means which selects a second AC voltage, alternating in the constant direction shifted from the direction of the first AC voltage by an electrical angle of 90 deg. as a voltage command value to be supplied to the power converter; and a means which calculates a direct-axis inductance and a quadrature-axis inductance of an armature winding of the motor; by using the first and second AC voltages and at least three AC currents from among an AC current alternating in the same direction and having the same frequency as the voltage or the AC current, alternating in the direction perpendicular to the direction of the voltage and having the same frequency as the voltage, when the first AC voltage is selected, or an AC current alternating in the same direction and having the same frequency as the voltage or an AC current which alternates in the direction perpendicular to the direction of the voltage and having the same frequency as the voltage, when the second AC voltage is selected. |
