NEW BACTERIOPHAGE, METHOD FOR SCREENING THE SAME, NEW BIOBACTERICIDAL MATERIAL PREPARED BY USING THE SAME AND REAGENT FOR DETECTING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain both a bacteriophage having a high specificity for enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli and a biobactericidal material prepared by using the phage, to provide a method for simply screening a phage and to obtain both a reagent for simply detecting a pathogenic bacterium in a short time by using the phage and a reagent kit. SOLUTION: The bacteriophage has a DNA containing a fragment with a base sequence represented by sequence number 1-1 to 1-4, sequence number 2-1 to 2-10, sequence number 3-1 to 3-5 or sequence number 4-1 to 4-5 (referred to the specification), respectively. The bacteriophage is infected with a pathogenic bacterium in a restriction enzyme minus and modified enzyme positive state, amplified, treated at a high temperature, consequently only a bacteriophage containing a deleted DNA is selected to screen the bacteriophage. The biobactericidal material may contain a cocktail of two or more kinds of bacteriophages different in properties so as to sterilize two or more kinds of pathogenic bacteria at the same time.
