<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify renewal construction work of an elevator for updating an existing control panel of an elevator to a new one. <P>SOLUTION: Connection of a signal cable 13 to the existing control panel stored inside a wiring duct 11 of a floor 3 in a machine room 2 is cut. The existing control panel fixed on an existing mounting table 10 embedded in the floor 3 of the machine room 2 is removed from the existing mounting table 10. On the mounting table 10 after the control panel is removed, a flat plate-type intermediate mounting table 15 having a through-window 19 having an outer shape of the bottom face equal to a top face of the existing mounting table 10 for a signal cable to pass through from the bottom face to the top face is formed. On a top face 17 of the flat plate-type intermediate mounting table 15, a new control panel 14 having an outer shape of a bottom face included in the outer shape of the top face of the intermediate mounting table 15 is mounted.
