PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bayonet pipe joint in which one end part of a pipe can be inserted easily and quickly in a sealed and retain state. SOLUTION: A joint body 1 has inner and outer double cylinders 5, 6 at its axial one end part, and a pipe insertion clearance 12 is formed between the inner and outer double cylinders. An elastic seal ring 2 closely abutted to an inner peripheral face of a pipe P is fitted in a seal ring groove 13 on an outer periphery of the inner cylinder 5. An enlargeably and contractably deformable lock ring 3 having teeth 17 engaged with an outer peripheral face of the pipe P is internally fitted to the outer cylinder 6. The lock ring 3 is integrally formed on a tip of a hollow shaft 15 of a collet 4. A tapered ring 22 is fitted in the axial outer part with respect to the elastic seal ring 2 of the outer peripheral face of the inner cylinder 5 in a state of directing a taper 24 toward an inner depth of the pipe insertion clearance 12. As the tapered ring 22 is pressed, and the elastic seal ring 2 is pressed into the seal ring groove 13 in accompany with the insertion of one end part of the pipe P into the pipe insertion clearance 12, one end part of the pipe P can be smoothly inserted without caught by the elastic seal ring 2.
