PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telephone enabling a user to communicate with the same one's party by inputting the same telephone number even if utilizing a telephone line in the telephone enabling a call by utilizing a plurality of telephone lines having a different communication standard each, and to provide a method of converting a telephone number in the telephone and a telephone number conversion processing program. SOLUTION: When the telephone number of a transmission destination inputted by the user via an operation section 60 is used for transmission, a control section 55 of a slave 50 determines that transmission connection can be made to one of a general public line X and a network NT, converts the telephone number of the inputted transmission destination to that of the transmission destination coinciding with a telephone number format corresponding to the communication standard of a connection destination, where the transmission connection can be made, and uses the telephone number for executing transmission connection processing.
