An electro-chromic apparatus and a method thereof for diversifying a surface color tone of a mobile terminal by using the electro-chromic material are provided to change the color of electro chromic film laminated on the surface of the mobile terminal according to the bio state of a user. An electro chromic apparatus determines whether a user is contacted in a mobile terminal(S310). If so, the electro-chromic materials measure the organism state of the user by utilizing the equipped sensor(S320). The electro-chromic materials determine the size of the voltage authorized in the electro-chromic thin film corresponding to the measured organism state(S330). According to the size of the applied voltage which is the electro-chromic materials voltage determined, it authorizes in the electro-chromic thin film(S340).
