摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the throughput of a printed picture in the case of feeding paper on a condition that plain paper and the different kind of transfer material coexist by detecting whether the transfer material fed from a paper feeding cassette is the plain paper or the different kind of transfer material such as OHT or cardboard by the use of a detection sensor, and changing and controlling an image interval and secondary transfer/fixing speed in accordance with the detected result in an inline type image forming device of an intermediate transfer system. SOLUTION: An OHT detection sensor 15 detecting the kind of the transfer material carried to a secondary transfer part is installed at a position satisfying the relation of (r+L)/Vs<Tg. Provided that Vs means the processing speed of the image forming device, (r) means a distance to a primary transfer part from a primary electrification position on a photoreceptor drum 1 on the most upstream side in the turning direction of an intermediate transfer drum 6, L means a distance to a secondary transfer part from the primary transfer part on the drum 1 on the most upstream side in the turning direction on an intermediate transfer drum 5, and Tg means the time necessary for the transfer material to reach the secondary transfer part from the sensor 15.
