APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR CHANNEL ESTIMATION IN MIMO SYSTEMS

A transmitter, a receiver and a communication method applied to the transmitter for channel estimation in a wireless communications system in the timing offset are provided to estimate a channel without additional performance deterioration by timing offset regardless of the number of antennas. An MIMO(Multiple Input Multiple Output) frequency area signal generator(110) encodes a binary source received from a MAC(Medium Access Control) layer. A MIMO frequency area signal generating unit is the encoded bit in a subcarrier. A pilot inserting unit inserts a pilot into the signal of the branch. A pilot inserting unit inserts the pilot into the signal of each transmit branch. An IFFT(Inverse Fast Fourier Transform) units convert signal into the waveform of the time domain.
