PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for thawing a frozen product under a control for invariably obtaining the same result at any temperature in starting thawing a frozen product. SOLUTION: This method for thawing a frozen product comprises subjecting the frozen product in a reduced pressure tank to microwave heating with proper output under reduced pressures; that is, in a step of microwave heating while promoting pressure reduction, after a halt of microwave heating, a pressure reduction is promoted further at least to such an extent as to cause a sublimation in the frozen product followed by restoring the pressure to such a specified extent as to enable a microwave heating to be started again, and then a microwave heating of a proper output is made while promoting a pressure reduction again, and after halting the microwave heating again, a pressure reduction is promoted further to such an extent as to cause a sublimation in the frozen product; the above procedure is then repeated; wherein the microwave heating times in the respective microwave heating steps in the repeated pressure reduction process are summed up, and at a point when the result comes to a specified cumulative heating time for the frozen product set in advance, the microwave heating is ended and the pressure inside the reduced pressure tank is restored to the atmospheric pressure, thus ending thawing of the frozen product. |
