PURPOSE: Provided is low melting point unslaked lime(CaO) poured in a blowing process of converter in steelmaking, which promotes dephosphorization, prevents slopping, and decreases input amounts of lime by coating lime with a mixture of clay, silica and mill scale. CONSTITUTION: Low melting point slaked lime is prepared by coating slaked lime(CaO) with a mixture(coating agent) which contains 10-30wt.% of clay, as a binder, comprising silicate(SiO2) and Al2O3, less than 30wt.% of silica sand comprising SiO2 and Al2O3 to lower the melting point of limestone, and trace amounts of mill scale comprising FeO to lead dephosphorization and lower the melting point of CaO. The total amount of clay and silica sand is less than 40wt.%, based on the coating agent which is less than 20wt.%, based on CaO. |
