PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing apparatus of a sapphire single crystal, the apparatus being capable of realizing a more flat growth boundary.SOLUTION: A manufacturing apparatus of a sapphire single crystal grows a single crystal by placing a seed crystal on a bottom part in a crucible and solidifying a raw material melt from a side of the seed crystal at a temperature gradient where a temperature increases from the bottom part of the crucible to upward, the manufacturing apparatus including the crucible, a rotation mechanism rotating the crucible with a rotation axis parallel to a central axis of the crucible, and control means of periodically reversing a direction of rotating the crucible by the rotation mechanism.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
