PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an audio unit by which a user can quickly adjust to a desired level through the use of rotary knobs such as sound volume adjustment and can attain fine adjustment at an optional level. SOLUTION: The audio unit is provided with a volume adjustment means 108 that adjusts an output sound volume of an audio signal or the like, a rotary operation means that can be rotary-operated, a rotating state detection means 132 that detects a rotating state of the rotary operation means, and a control means 120 that sets a 1st adjustment mode where the output adjustment in the volume adjustment means is sequentially changed in a 1st step number when the rotating state detection means detects a 1st rotating state and a 2nd adjustment mode where the output adjustment by the volume adjustment means is sequentially changed in a 2nd step number less than the 1st step number when the rotating state detection means detects a 2nd rotating state rotated at a faster speed than that of the 1st rotating state.
