PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk controller capable of restoring cache data even when the power supply from the outside is disconnected while data that have not been stored on a disk yet exist on a cache memory. SOLUTION: This disk controller has a nonvolatile memory 153 having the data backup area of the cache memory and a battery 154 for feeding backup power supply to the disk controller, and copies the data of the cache memory 152 into the memory 153 with power feeding from the battery 154, when the power supply from the outside is disconnected while the data that have not been stored on the disk yet exist in the memory 152, and power supply is fed to the memory 152 as far as the power supply of the battery 154 lasts. When the power supply from the outside is resumed while the power supply from the battery is fed, the data of the memory 152 are used as they are, and when the battery is consumed, the cache memory is restored with the data of the memory 153. |
