[Also in Divisions B3 and F2] Metal tubes are coated internally with plastics material by forming a metal strip into a slit tube, welding together the edges of the slit tube and continuously coating internally the tube so formed. The plastics material may be applied by spraying of a liquid or powder and the powder may be charged electrostatically before coating. The coating is sintered after application. The plastics may be based on polytetrafluoroethylene, fluorinated ethylene/propylene copolymer, polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride, polyurethane, epoxide, polyester and silicone rubber and an adhesion-improving agent such as a polyimide or polyepoxide may be present. |
