[Also in Division C3] Fuel- and corrosion-resistant stoving lacquers comprising A) a melamine-formaldehyde resin etherified with a C 1 to C 6 -aliphatic alcohol and B) an acrylic copolymer containing primary hydroxyl groups and carboxyl groups are applied in the examples to steel plates and glass panes. The particular resin A) employed is an isobutanol-etherified melamine-formaldehyde resin and copolymer B) is a copolymer of methyl methacrylate, hydroxyethyl acrylate and acrylic acid with styrene and n-butyl acrylate, or n-butyl acrylate alone, or n-butyl methacrylate and 2-ethylhexyl acrylate. The solvent medium comprises xylene, isobutanol and, in some cases, n-butyl acetate, and the lacquers may also contain TiO 2 . |
