[Also in Division E2] The line pans of a mine conveyer are coupled together by a pair of blocks 10, 12 respectively provided on adjacent ends of the pans, and a connecting bolt 14 linking the two blocks. Each block has a channel 30, 32 formed in one side to receive the shank 16 of the bolt 14, the channels opening into cavities 34, 36 to receive the heads 18 of the bolt. A portion of each cavity 34, 36 is formed with flanges 38, 40 to retain the heads 18 therein, wherein the length of the channels 30, 32 is less than the length of the shank 16, the difference being less than the length of the flanges 38 but greater than the length of the flanges 40. The head 18 is retained within the flanges 40 by a stop member 42 held in its operative position shown, by co-operating step surfaces 48, 50 urged into contact by a rubber ring 52. Adjacent faces 22, 24 of the blocks 10, 12 have a co-operating angular tongue and groove whereby to permit limited vertical angular displacement between the pans.</p> |
