PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved measuring probe which can be used, even if the boundary region of the shortage of an electrolyte cannot be detected visually regarding the measuring probe for potentiometry and to provide a method, in which the aging state of the measuring probe can be monitored. SOLUTION: The measuring probe for potentiometery is provided with a housing 2, made of an electrical insulating material, which forms an airtightly sealed space 4. A first reference element 6, a second reference element 8, the electrolyte 10 and an ion-permeable fine-pore high-viscosity polymer substance are housed in the inside of the space 4, and the polymer substance forms a filler 16 for the measuring probe, together with the electrolyte 10. The housing 2 has at least one opening 12 communicating with the outside, and the electrolyte 10 can be brought into contact with a sample solution as a measuring object via the opening. The second reference element 8 is arranged, in such a way that a boundary region 52 of an electrolyte shortage region 54, which advances toward the first reference element 6 from the opening 12 with passage of time reaches the second reference element 8, before reaching the first reference element 6. |
