This door lock comprises an elongate, locking rod that is mounted in one side of the door frame to engage in an elongate recess in the side of the door opposite the door hinge. This locking rod is constantly urged by springs into engagement with the recess and is held in engagement with the recess by a second, operating rod that is mounted in the door frame alongside the locking rod but at the opposite side thereof from the recess. The operating rod is cylindrical for the major part of its periphery but has an elongate recess in it around part of its periphery. When the cylindrical portion of the operating rod is engaged with the periphery of the locking rod, the locking rod is held in locking position. When the recess in the operating rod registers with the locking rod, the door can be opened against the resistance of the springs that normally urge the locking rod to locking position. A spring-pressed pin on a rotary lock member can lock the operating rod in locking engagement with the locking rod, and a second pin eccentrically mounted in this same lock member to engage in a second elongate recess in the operating member can rotate the operating member to and from locking engagement with the locking member.
